National Seminar Serious 2012: Number 1 Preventative Spend in Accident Awareness

Over the past year the Council has undergone immense change, starting with our consultation with members and looking to the future direction of the Council. To ensure that member organisations have access to the latest and relevant information on accident prevention and awareness the Council Executive has taken the decision to restructure the remainder of the year’s meetings based on the feedback from the consultation. This restructuring will offer members before and after the Local Government elections the opportunity to have access to discussions and decisions about the future off accident awareness and its relationship with preventative spend as well as the ability to shape the future of the Council.

As many of you will recognise, with reduced budgets and an outcome focused geography members are under increasing pressure to ensure effective use of public finances. Critically, members will recognise that one way to ensure effective delivery of public services is to develop our preventative spend policies and delivery methods; we are sure you will agree that this includes preventative measures relating to accidents in Scotland which have a profound impact on the economic and social well being of the nation.

To ensure that you have access to topical research, policy discussions and support in developing your accident awareness preventative spend; we are arranging three national seminars across 2012. The first National Seminar will be held on the 14th March 2012 at the new Headquarters of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities.

Member are entitled to two free places at each of the seminars which will take place across 2012. For more information e-mail us or call direct on 0141 280 0122
